Clerical Officer Grants Section
Location: Connolly Station
Salary: CO2 (€49,938.27 - €54,383.01)
Iarnród Éireann is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Clerical Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for the correct candidate that comes at a time when the organisation continues to develop and grow. The successful candidate will report to the Grants Section Manager, assisting in ensuring the submitted reports are accurate.
Key responsibilities will include:
- This role will fully support the work of the Grants Section Manager.
- Calculate claim values to the NTA every two weeks, working with the Section’s Finance Executive to ensure the submitted reports are accurate.
- Provide grants expertise and support to relevant Capital project and programme staff.
- Provide support to the Grants Manager in the administrative and claim submission requirements for EU co-funded projects.
- Deliver Periodic reports to the Grants Manager
- Support the Grants Manager during internal and external audits (NTA transaction audit, DoT audits on EU claims)
- The role will provide support for internal and external reporting including Statutory Financial Statements together with notes to the accounts
- Ensure the control environment is maintained resulting in the absence of non-compliance issues.
- Carry out periodic transaction checks as prescribed and highlight possible issues to the Grants Manager/Finance Executive.
- Deliver all claim reports (NTA, DoT, EU, etc.) to a high standard of accuracy.
- Carry out administrative duties of the Grants Section.
- Ensure all required reporting is delivered to deadline.
- Provide support as required to all capital project staff.

Essential Requirements
- SAP experience
- Strong Microsoft suite skills, in particular – Excel.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Drive for higher performance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
