  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

Learning and Development Executive CPD

Salary – Exec C €60,764 -€74,857(on a 6-year scale) 

Applications are invited for the role of Learning and Development Executive CPD within the Talent Development department, Iarnród Éireann.

The purpose of this role is to develop effective working relationships with a range of key stakeholders including industry, educational institutions, membership bodies and state bodies to maximise the return on professional memberships and design, develop and deliver the management of continuous professional development (CPD). This role is engaged across the three key pillars of Learning and Development, Talent Development and Talent Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and delivery of a CPD Strategy for Irish Rail
  • Management of the collation and reporting of CPD through our People Platform.
  • Lead and champion the introduction of CPD policies and engagement in CPD through marketing and acting as the lead point of contact.
  • Working with the Digital Learn Manager on eLearning content
  • Support the delivery of the Talent Development Strategy
  • Work closely with the entire Talent Development team on the areas contained in the three key pillars of Learning and Development, Talent Development and Talent Management.
  • Develop effective working relationships with a range of key stakeholders including industry, educational institutions, membership bodies and state bodies to maximise the return on professional memberships.
  • Design, develop and deliver the management of continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Manage the Further Education Development (FED) funding initiative from end to end including approvals, communications and the processing of payments through Payment Requisitions and our Accounts Payable department.
  • Represent Irish Rail on a range of steering groups with entities such as Smurfit Business School, UCD LEAD forum, L&DI Connect, Skillnet Ireland, IMI and Central European Railway (CER).
  • Develop beneficial relationships with professional bodies within Ireland, the UK and Europe.

Essential:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Advanced experience of working in or with professional membership bodies
  • Knowledge of current developments and emerging trends in Continuous Professional Development
  • Experience in developing effective relationships with a broad range of educational institutions and membership bodies
  • Experience of managing budgets and reporting on key metrics demonstrating return on investment.

Desirable:

  • Responsibility for marketing and communication as part of promoting opportunities for CPD
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset
  • L&D qualification
  • Experience in obtaining QQI Accreditation for programme content
  • Knowledge of instructional design or qualification in same
  • Knowledge of a range of learning methodologies
  • Application of the 70-20-10 model of reflective learning
