  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

Manager Exchequer and EU Grants

Salary - 3C €93,972.24 - €97,250.33

We are currently recruiting for the position of Manager Exchequer and EU Grants. This role reports to the Financial Controller.

Job purpose

  • Manage the periodic exchequer grant claims to the Department of Transport (DoT) and the National Transport Authority (NTA).
  • To submit, on a timely basis, claims in respect of EU funded projects.
  • To manage the auditing of the above claims by internal and external auditors.
  • To liaise with internal & external parties in respect of funded projects and address funding issues that may arise.
  • To provide cashflow reporting re grants to the Manager, Cash Management.
  • To manage and lead a team in supporting the objectives of Iarnród Éireann.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Project Claims
    • Preparation of periodic projected expenditure for grant aided projects.
    • Prepare and submit claims to the funding agencies
  • Funding Applications
    • Oversight of the funding application process on the NTA’s Project Reporting System (PRS), after Board approval & follow-up with project managers any issues that may arise.
    • Facilitate PRS system management for Irish Rail, including training, submission of New User forms, and other administrative duties
  • Reports & Meetings
    • Provide monthly progress reports to the NTA for all IÉ NTA funded projects.
    • Meet with the NTA Capital Programme Office each month.
  • Audits
    • Liaise with IÉ partners re external audits – RSM Capital audit and Statutory audit.
    • Liaise with Internal audit when required.
    • Ensure all follow up recommendations are closed
  • Statutory Accounts/Management Accounts
    • Complete a reconcile exchequer funding note to the statutory accounts , in compliance with Circular 13/2014 - Management of and Accountability for Grants from Exchequer Funds
  • EU Co-funded projects
    • Co-ordinate and submit in a timely manner all EU funding submissions.
    • Submit EU claims and reports as and when scheduled.
  • General
    • Develop and implement a training programme for staff within the section.
    • Answer Parliamentary Questions and FOI requests as appropriate.

  • Strong computer skills, particularly Excel
