  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

Senior Safety Administrator

Location: Rosslare Europort, Wexford
Salary – Exec D €65,525.85- €76,396.61 (6-year scale)

Applications are invited for the position of Senior Safety Administrator - Rosslare Europort with the Director of Health and Safety team of Iarnród Éireann. The purpose of this role is to assist the Director of Health and Safety in supporting cross-functional safety matters within Rosslare Europort and Shared Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support in the management, monitoring and continuous development of the Safety Management System (SMS), Port Security and Marine codes for Rosslare Europort.
  • Further develop the Rosslare Europort Safety Standards as required.
  • Build relationships with other Ports and share transferrable lessons.
  • Develop and assist with delivery of safety improvement projects and workshops.
  • Help share learning across the organisation in support of creating a consistent approach to safety management and development.
  • Carry out briefings and undertake risk assessments as required.
  • Assist in the implementation of a Just Culture and Safety Leadership principles.
  • Manage the implementation of the CIRAS Confidential Reporting system.
  • Assist the Harbour Master carry out Audits (both internal and external) of progress in compliance with the SMS and Safety Targets to be achieved.
  • Arrange for monitoring of compliance with all operational required safety rules, regulations and standards as set out by the SMS and Port Security and Marine codes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new and improved Port safety procedures in line with the relevant Health and Safety legislation, Marine legislation, Security Company Standards, Safety Standards, Departmental Safety Standards (SMS) and best practice.
  • Assist Port management in carrying out required risk assessments and implementing identified controls.
  • Compile statistics and key performance indicators identifying the trends and figures in relation to incident / accident / security and environmental reporting.
  • Compile statistics, trends and evidence in support of safety-related business cases.
  • Support and assist in the development of safety improvement projects for the Port.
  • Liaise with other ports on safety and security trends and advise accordingly.
  • Develop an annual safety report for inclusion in relevant publications.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification and experience working with safety management systems.
  • A minimum of three years working in Safety.
  • Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • A good understanding of the Irish Rail organisation structure.
  • Familiarity with SMS & procedures within Irish Rail and Rosslare Europort and/or Irish Ports.
  • Management experience within an engineering / rail operating environment.
  • Familiarity with a working Port environment.

A competency-based interview will form part of this selection process. Candidates may be shortlisted based on experience and/or application/CV.
