Customers are advised there is limited availability for seat only bookings online.

Customers who hold a Free Travel / DSFA Pass can book on their chosen service by selecting the 'Free Travel Pass' option in the Passenger selection box. Customers are advised there is limited availability for Free Travel bookings online.

  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

Is an option for customers who are in possession of Free Travel Pass, a valid standard class ticket(s), seasonal ticket(s), Taxsaver ticket(s) or InterRail to book onto a train in standard class. Dublin to Cork Intercity

  • Following infrastructure works in recent years it is now possible to reduce journey times on many Dublin/Cork/Dublin services with many intermediate station time changes. Please consult the draft timetable for full details.
  • New 06:00 hrs Heuston/Cork service (Mon-Fri) arriving at 08:32hrs. Giving a pre-09:00 arrival into Cork City, also serving Thurles, Limerick Jctn., Charleville and Mallow.
    • Please note it is not yet possible to provide a direct connection to/from Limerick for this new service. However, this is being actively considered with a view to providing such a connecting service in early/mid 2024.  In the meantime, customers from Dublin can change at Thurles to connect with the 07:45 hrs Thurles/Limerick service, arriving in Limerick at 08:34hrs and giving a pre-09:00 arrival into Limerick City.  Customers from Limerick can avail of the 06:10 hrs Limerick/Limerick Jctn. with a 48-minute connection at Limerick Jctn.
  • The 07:45 hrs Charleville/Cork (Mondays to Friday) is now replaced by the new 06:00 hrs Heuston/Cork service, which will serve Charleville at 07:47hrs and Mallow at 08:05hrs. On Saturdays, a 07:47 hrs Charleville/Cork service will continue to operate serving Mallow at 08:05hrs.
  • 05:45 hrs Cork/Heuston service (Mon-Sat) is advanced to 05:40, and on Mondays to Fridays will now be operated by a Mark 4 train, including CityGold. Arrival in Dublin will be 1 minute earlier than present. 
  • On Sundays, the following services will now additionally serve Portlaoise, providing connections to/from the new Sunday Portlaoise Commuter services:
    • 12:00 hrs Heuston/Cork, 14:00 hrs Heuston/Cork, 16:00 hrs Heuston/Cork, 18:00 hrs Heuston/Cork.
    • 08:25 hrs Cork/Heuston, 10:25 hrs Cork/Heuston, 12:25 hrs Cork/Heuston, 14:25 hrs Cork/Heuston, 16:25 hrs Cork/Heuston
