Customers who are already in possession of or purchasing on the day of travel a valid standard class ticket(s) such as Family Ticket, Day Return, Open Return, Weekly, Monthly, Annual or InterRail ticket can book on their chosen service by selecting the 'Reservation Only' option in the Passenger selection box. Customers are advised there is limited availability for seat only bookings online.

What are the conditions of travel?

Customers who hold a Free Travel / DSFA Pass can book on their chosen service by selecting the 'Free Travel Pass' option in the Passenger selection box. Customers are advised there is limited availability for Free Travel bookings online.

  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

DART Services

27th December 2024 to 5th January 2025

Engineering works will take place between Connolly and Grand Canal Dock from Friday 27th December 2024 to Sunday 5th January 2025 (inclusive). 

There will be no train service between Connolly and Grand Canal Dock.  Pearse and Tara Street stations will be closed. The following arrangements will apply:

Friday 27th December to Sunday 5th January inclusive (with exceptions below):

  • Line closed Connolly to Grand Canal Dock
  • DART services will operate between Howth/Malahide and Connolly Station, and between Grand Canal Dock and Bray/Greystones. Passengers travelling North / South of Connolly Station, a limited shuttle bus service will operate between Grand Canal Dock and Connolly Stations. 
  • Dublin Bus will accept rail tickets for southside customers travelling to/from city centre
  • Intercity services between Dublin Connolly and Rosslare Europort will involve bus transfers between Connolly and Bray. 

Exceptions to the above will be:

  • New Year’s Eve from 23:00 onwards: Line will be closed from Connolly to Pearse only to facilitate those travelling home from city centre to southside locations on late night trains after Dublin’s NYE Festival events. Southside DART services will operate from Pearse to Bray to Greystones, with late night services for Howth to Malahide, Dundalk, Maynooth and Kildare operating to/from Connolly.
  • Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd January from 06:00hrs to 18:00hrs inclusive: Line will be closed from Connolly to Pearse only, to facilitate those early returning commuters travelling between southside and city centre. Southside DART services will operate between Pearse and Bray/Greystones.

Throughout the works, Connolly Station will be fully operational with the exception of platform 7, and Grand Canal Dock Station will be fully operational.
