Technical Assistant, Structures, Chief Civil Engineers (CCE) Department, Dublin.
Location: Infrastructure HQ, Inchicore, Dublin 08. (Hybrid working arrangements applicable, as per Remote Working policy)
Salary: €48k-€69K (Dependent on role & commensurate with suitable Qualification and Experience)
Contract Hours: 36-hour per week.
Contract Duration: Fixed Term leading to permanency.
Annual Leave Entitlement: 25 days per annum, rising to 28 based on service.

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail are recruiting for a Technical Assistant within the Infrastructure Management (IM) Department to join us for an exciting phase of growth within the railway sector.
The role is primarily responsible for providing support to the structures, Chief Civil Engineers department, assisting in preparing, modifying, and reviewing structural drawings for railway bridges, stations, tunnels, and civil engineering structures using AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software. Ensuring all structural designs are undertaken in compliance with railway industry standards, Eurocodes, and BS codes.
With major investment programmes in the maintenance, renewal and upgrading of our infrastructure, with Projects such as:
- DART+ Expansion
- TPS (Track Protection System)
- NTCC (National Train Control Centre)
- CACR (Cork Area Commuter Rail)
Along with several other projects, this is an exciting opportunity to progress a career in the railway industry, to help ensure the safe and efficient provision of railway services across the country.
Essential
- Diploma or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D).
- Basic knowledge of structural engineering principles and construction methods.
Desirable
- Prior experience in a railway infrastructure firm or construction-related projects
- Experience conducting site visits to assist with inspections, surveys, and verification of as-built conditions.
