Site Engineer TPS Project
Location – Railway Systems Building, Heuston Station
Salary – (Grade J37)
Applications are being invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position TPS Trackside Site Engineer.
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced TPS Trackside Site Engineer to join our dynamic team at Iarnród Éireann. In this role, you will play a crucial role in implementing trackside infrastructure associated with the Train Protection System (TPS). Your main responsibilities will include providing Site supervision support in terms of project site controls, assisting with the smooth implementation of projects, provide advice and assist with the implementation of arrangements required by applicable industry standards, regulations, and legislation.
Role and Purpose
- Manage the implementation of trackside infrastructure for the Train Protection System.
- Provide support and supervision to on-site supervisors for various tasks including SET asset correlation, TPS design modifications, ETCS equipment room enabling works modifications, and technical assistance to SSTS’s, RM’s, and SMS’s.
- Efficiently communicate and manage staff resources.
- Ensure project activities are executed by competent staff in accordance with relevant rules, procedures, and standards.
- Plan and document all project work.
- Monitor performance in terms of safety, planned activity, manpower allocation, budget, and schedule.
- Actively promote a culture of safety through participation in risk workshops and conducting audits.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety Regulations and Standards (SRS).
Essential Criteria
- A minimum of 2 years relevant site supervision & project engineering experience in railway or construction engineering environment.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Demonstrated management and engineering capability appropriate to the role and purpose of the position.
- Excellent understanding of Health & Safety issues in a construction/rail environment.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to work nights and occasional weekend shifts.
- Full driver’s License.
Desirable Criteria
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety)
- Valid Safe Pass card
- Experience of working on a Railway Construction Project.
- Demonstrable understanding of good Project Management Procedures
- Knowledge of contract management and law.
- Experience in the delivery of Safety Management Systems.
- Member of a registered Construction Institution (Engineers Ireland, ICE or similar)
