Engineering Maintenance Supervisor, Chief Mechanical Engineers Department, Fairview, Dublin 3
It is an exciting time to be a part of Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail’s busy Railway Undertaking (RU) Chief Mechanical Engineers Department! Applications for Engineering Maintenance Supervisor are now invited. The role holder will contribute to the Mechanical Engineering Department and will be based in Fairview, Dublin 3.
The main focus of this role is to manage engineering maintenance staff and ensure the necessary fleet is presented on time for operations to the required safety, technical and quality standards while maintaining the safe operation of the maintenance depot on their turn of shift. This role includes shift and night work over a 42 hour working week.
Essential Criteria
Interested candidates must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
- At least 5 years’ experience in the role of a Depot or Workshop supervisor
- Demonstration of Safety Consciousness through actions
- Proven experience in engineering theory and practices
- To be an advocate for Continuous Improvement change in the workplace
- Ability to promote the use of Safe Working Practices in a Team environment
- Ability to understand application of Maintenance Specifications
- Strong leadership skills to lead and motivate staff
- Ability to work alongside managers, and cross functional teams
- Good IT Skills Including SAP experience
Desirable Criteria
- Craft Qualification
- Rolling Stock Maintenance Qualification
- Certificate in Supervisory Management or Equivalent.
- Previous Rail experience or similar industry experience
