  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

Senior Project Accountant

Exciting opportunities to join our Finance team within Infrastructure Management (IM) Department

Position: Senior Project Accountant for the Infrastructure Manager’s Department

Location: Based in Inchicore, Dublin 8. (Hybrid working arrangements applicable, as per IÉ Remote Working policy).

Salary: 83k up to 86k per annum (Commensurate with suitable Qualifications and Experience)

Contract Hours: 36-hour per week.

Contract Duration: Fixed Term Contract initially leading to permanency.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 25 days per annum, rising to 28 based on service.

The Infrastructure Manager’s Department (IM) is made up of Engineering, Track /Access/Operations and support functions. The teams are Civil Engineering, Signal, Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering, and Infrastructure Operations.

The successful candidate will become part of the IM Finance team which aligns to that structure. The Senior Project Accountant will report to the IM Finance Manager and will be responsible for assisting in managing the financial control requirements of the IM Business covering project budgetary control, project periodic reporting, financial planning, and financial forecast management, project controls, contract management and funding cash flow management.

Essential Requirements

  • Candidate must hold a Professional Accounting Qualification with a minimum of 3 years PQE
  • Proven IT Skills and Knowledge specifically Excel and SAP (FI/CO,MM)
  • Experience in Project Accounting and Infrastructure Project Accounting essential
  • A keen understanding of project expenditure, accruals, retentions and cash flow
  • An understanding of contracts and contract variations and the procurement to invoice process
  • Ability to work to strict timelines and strong delivery/execution focus
  • Demonstrated ability in the preparation of high quality timely and consistent financial reports for internal and external use
