Online fares reduce by 20% from Monday 11th April
08 Aibreán 2022
Latest phase in fare reductions across Iarnród Éireann services and public transport
The final phase of the reduction of adult public transport fares by an average of 20 percent, including Iarnród Éireann rail fares; the introduction of the Young Adult Leap Card to give 19 to 23 year olds a 50% reduction; and the extension of the Cork Commuter zone to Mallow takes effect from Monday 9th May.
The reductions are taking place in three phases:
- Since 1st April: All Taxsaver fares (monthly and annual season tickets purchased through the Taxsaver scheme) reduced by an average of 20 percent
- 11th April: Intercity online fares, booked at www.irishrail.ie or through our Customer Care line reduce by an average of 20 percent
- Early May: All other fares, including ticket office fares for Intercity, DART and Commuter services, reduce by an average of 20 percent
The reduction from 11th April means that our online Intercity fares are now even better value.
As fuel prices soar by over 40 percent in recent months, public transport fares – which in many cases have been unchanged in three or more years already – are now more competitively priced than ever. Rail customers can have all the benefits of rail travel, reduce their carbon footprint, and now save more too.
