Customers who hold a Free Travel / DSFA Pass can book on their chosen service by selecting the 'Free Travel Pass' option in the Passenger selection box. Customers are advised there is limited availability for Free Travel bookings online.

  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

Salary: €57k-€64K (Additional allowances applicable, also shift Salaries of up to €80k+ applicable for some roles dependent on training & experience)

Contract Hours: Average of 48-hours per week.

Contract Duration: Fixed Purpose & Fixed Term leading to permanency.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 20 days per annum, rising to 23 based on service. (Additional 5 days for Shift Electricians)

Training: Provide professional rail and safety specific training through our own training department and some specialised external providers, giving you the opportunity to build on your current skills and knowledge while attaining certification, qualifications and competence in specialist areas.

We are seeking applications for a number of qualified Electrical Craftworker roles to join us for this exciting phase of growth within the railway sector.

With major investment programmes in the maintenance, renewal and upgrading of our infrastructure, this is an exciting opportunity for electricians looking to progress a career in the railway industry and to help in the safe and efficient provision of railway services across the country.

The (SE&T) Signalling Electrification & Telecoms department is responsible for providing a safe and reliable infrastructure for the operation of train services in the Republic of Ireland.

All candidates for the role should:

  • Hold or be working towards a National Craft Certificate (Electrical) or equivalent to NFQ level 6 or higher
  • Have good working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and the Construction Industry Regulations
    Be able to demonstrate skills in installation and testing of electrical systems and sub systems
  • Have experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • Have experience of site work and an ability to work to a deadline under time constraints
  • Be capable of working effectively within a team to achieve results
  • Hold a full clean driver’s licence
  • Have experience working in or knowledge of railway infrastructure would be an advantage
