  • You can purchase the ticket above using our Journey Planner. Tickets can only be purchased up to 90 days in advance.
  • An allocation of bookings on all InterCity services can be reserved online without a fee for 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders'. When this allocation is fully booked, all remaining seats can be reserved by 'Free Travel Pass or valid ticket holders' for €2.50 per journey.

Applications are being invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager in our Information Systems Department. This role is part of the ICT Project Management Office Team which sets and maintains standards for ICT project delivery, delivering a range of ICT projects aligned to the organisation’s ICT strategy. As a project manager you will be assigned a variety of projects to manage from start to finish.

Responsibilities include

  • You will be responsible for leading, managing and coordinating the delivery of a broad range of projects within the ICT function while partnering with the business to ensure that business benefits are realized
  • You will ensure that the projects are delivered on-time, to budget and to agreed quality standards.
    Responsible for project tracking, monitoring, control, and success from concept to delivery into the production environment.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
    Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop / Manage a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Track and report on project performance including scope, budget, and schedule
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Manage the project budget reporting actuals vs forecasts monthly
  • Highlight budget performance plus variances at weekly status updates and to project sponsors
  • Establish project governance setup at project initiation
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation per the ICT PMO standardized process
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Perform risk management to ensure risks are documented and stakeholders are informed
  • Strong ability to work at a detailed level whilst being able to extract the appropriate level of information for senior management consumption

Essential criteria

  • Project Management Certification (Prince2 Certified or related Project Management Methodology)
  • A track record in delivering IT Projects
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience delivering projects appropriate to the role and purpose of the position
  • Demonstrated Project Management capability appropriate to the role and purpose of the position.
  • Experience in presenting to Executive steering groups
  • Strong leadership ,negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong commercial acumen, ability to manage project budgets in excess of €5m
  • Good experience of waterfall methodologies
  • Experience working with and managing 3rd party vendors
  • Ability to perform well under pressure

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Experience in facilitating business stakeholders in strategic/planning workshops
  • Demonstrable understanding of good Project Management Procedures.
  • Experience of production and management of funding applications, e.g. for the National Transport Authority.
