OHLE Operatives
Overhead line Equipment (OHLE) Operatives to join our Infrastructure Management (IM) Department.
Location: Cover Dublin & Greater Dublin area with a base in Fairview.
Salary: €41k-€47K Plus Allowances
Contract Hours: 44 hour per week. (Flexible Rosters to cover weekend & night works)
Contract Duration: Fixed Purpose & Fixed Term leading to permanency.
Requirements: Experience working with overhead lines is not required as training will be provided. (See Essential Requirements below)

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail are recruiting Overhead line Equipment (OHLE) Operatives roles within the Infrastructure Management (IM) Department to join us for an exciting phase of growth within the railway sector.
With major investment in multiple projects such as the ETCS (European Train Control System) and DART+ Projects which will see the capacity of the rail network transformed by infrastructure expansion, including four-tracking, electrification, a new signalling system and new rolling stock.
A number of General OHLE Operatives are required for a fixed period of time to support and contribute to this essential project work.
The successful candidates will be recruited to carry out works associated with or resulting from these projects. Additionally, candidates will be required to work in maintenance activity to gain experience, training and be assessed as competent to work. The role will encompass assisting and taking of isolations electrical to facilitate works on the Railway within the DART area. The role will also involve carrying out Foot Patrols of the Overhead Line Equipment on DART. These are key front-line safety critical positions within Iarnród Éireann.
Essential Requirements:
- Full clean driving licence.
- Demonstrated experience in Construction/ Highly Safety regulated work environment.
- Knowledge/ Awareness of Health & Safety Legislation and the Construction Industry Regulations.
- A basic understanding of electricity
Desirable:
- Previous experience of working in a rail environment would be an advantage.
- Experience working at heights of up to 10 metres
- Experience of working with and making adjustments to mechanical equipment
- Valid Safe Pass
