The earliest you can apply for a Young Adult card is two weeks before your 19th birthday.

You will be asked to upload an image of your valid Passport, EU National ID, Drivers Licence or Learner Permit

To get a Student Card you must be 24 or older and be enrolled in full time education (16 hours a week or more), including further education and training.
 

This card can only be purchased online at leapcard.ie. Go to the buy menu and select the card type from the drop down. You’ll need to complete the application details, upload a photo and pay for the card during the application process.
 

The card is free to purchase, however, there is a €5 deposit and a €5 minimum travel credit requirement to proceed with the application.
 

For a Young Adult Card you’ll need to upload an image of your valid Passport, EU National ID, Drivers Licence or Learner Permit, a selfie taken during the application to verify your identity against your ID and you card payment details
 

Young Adult cards will usually be posted within 5 working days. Student Leap Cards will need to be collected in person at a Student Leap Agent where student status verification will take place.
 

You will received an email stating the reason why the application was rejected and the payment made as part of the application will be refunded
 

Refunds will need to be requested by logging into your account on leapcard.ie
