Role: Project Manager – Controls & Reporting. Delivery Strategy Unit, Capital Investment Division, Dublin
Our CI Division, Inchicore, encourages expressions of interest for the position of Project Manager (Controls & Reporting). The chosen candidate will become an integral member of the DSU team. The Project Manager (Controls & Reporting) will apply a considered and measured approach in the delivery of PMP development, Risk Management & Auditing and Systems Development. Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail is building for a future which will see the role of our rail services maximised in meeting the transport needs of the communities we serve, and the wider economy and environment.
Supported by the National Transport Authority, and funded under Project Ireland 2040, we will invest in trains, infrastructure, stations and customer service as part of the National Development and National Climate Plans. The successful applicant will be engaged through a fixed term contract with the possibility of permanency, subject to business requirements.
Responsibilities in Brief
- To provide professional support and assistance to the PMO Manager and support the CI Delivery Units in terms of project management, project delivery guidance, project controls, programme, project & executive level reporting, project governance & assurance
- To support with the coordination and review of executive, advisory group and board level approval requests.
- To support the implementation of programmes / projects including the development of procedures, guidelines and templates to support CI Delivery Units.
- To monitor project compliance and audit programmes / projects as undertaken by the CI Division.
- To support and assist with audits from external agencies and bodies as required
- To provide advice and assist with the implementation of arrangements required by applicable industry standards, statutory regulations and legislation
- To ensure compliance with close out process of CI Delivery Unit programmes / projects.
- To support the coordination and management of independent peer reviews on programmes / projects as required
- To support the digital transformation rollout and transition to digital tools and processes in the CI Division.
- To deputise for the CI PMO Manager, as necessary
- Monitoring & Reporting on all aspects of the development of projects within the CI Division.
Essential Requirements
- An Engineering, construction or Project Management degree
- Member of Engineers Ireland or other relevant professional body
- Minimum of 10 years project engineering experience in Railway Systems or similar multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Strong leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant general management and project management experience for projects of a similar complexity.
Desirable Requirements
- Have knowledge of Government transport policies and project delivery compliance procedures
- Proficient in drafting documents, standards, procedures, guidelines & templates
- Knowledge of Document Management Systems & Control processes
- Knowledge of Portfolio, Programme & Project Management software tools
- Knowledge and understanding of auditing processes and procedures
- Demonstrable understanding of good Project Management principles and procedures
