Fleet Technical Support Vacancies
Join our growing team! We are expanding our Fleet Technical Support Team within the Chief Mechanical Engineer Department to support our fleet across various depots.
The following roles are open for application:
- Fleet Technical Support, Inchicore
- Fleet Technical Support, Portlaoise Traincare Depot
- Fleet Technical Support, Initially - Drogheda
Please note, subject to work requirements, the successful candidates may be required to work in other locations designated by the Company.
Essential Criteria
Interested candidates must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
- Engineering Qualification(s). Trade Level minimum.
- Working knowledge of Safety Management Systems.
- High safety awareness.
- Technical Ability / Fault Finding.
- Working knowledge of the strength characteristics of materials.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and conventions.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to learn and embrace change.
- IT Skills to a proficient standard (MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).

Desirable criteria
- Higher Qualification in Engineering, e.g. diploma or degree.
- Extensive knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical systems of rail vehicles.
- Ability to conduct Risk Assessments.
- An understanding of how Rolling Stock Systems operate.
- Knowledge of International Standards for Railway Engineering.
- Experience of operating Safety Management Systems incl. the lead.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to management, ownership and control of all fleet safety initiatives; provision of direct fleet engineering support for all aspects of fleet performance and providing an “On-Call” support service to the operational fleet.
