Technical Support Opportunities in Athlone (x1) & Limerick Junction (x1):
Locations: Limerick Junction (Tipperary) and Athlone.
Travel: Requirement to travel around the network. Pool Van available.
Salary: €48k-€68K (Dependent on role & commensurate with suitable Qualification and Experience)
Contract Hours: 36-hour per week.
Contract Duration: Fixed Term leading to permanency.
Annual Leave Entitlement: 25 days per annum, rising to 28 based on service.

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail are recruiting for Technical Assistant roles in Athlone Division and Limerick Junction Division (Tipperary) in the Chief Civil Engineers (CCE) Department of the Infrastructure Manager (IM).
Working within a team of Engineers and Technical Staff these roles primarily involve carrying out inspections on the various Track and Structure assets (e.g. Level Crossings, Platforms, Bridges, Buffers, Points & Crossings etc.) across the rail network.
As well as carrying out inspections you will be supporting the Technical and Engineering teams in the respective Divisions by way of Surveying: Use of Level, Theodolite, Total Station to carryout railway surveying, structure gauging, land surveying etc. Draughting: Produce Track Layout drawings, land plans etc. Vertical and Horizontal Curves: Carryout relevant surveys, produce designs and assist with implementation of designs. Training will be provided in connection with this role.

Essential
- Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering (level 6) or relevant Engineering Discipline.
- Over 1 years experience working in a relevant engineering/technical role with the above qualification. Recently qualified candidates will be considered.
- The candidate should hold a full Category B EU/UK driving licence as there will be a requirement to drive in order to undertake asset inspections.
Desirable
- Draughting and AutoCAD experience.
- Surveying – use of Level/Theodolite/Total Station.
- Experience in vertical and horizontal curve design.
