Engineering Opportunities Chief Civil Engineer’s (CCE) Track Delivery Unit:
Location: Portarlington /Dublin/Thurles (Hybrid working arrangements applicable, as per Remote Working policy)
Travel: Requirement to travel around the network, Mileage Allowance &/ Pool Car available
Salary: €47k-€82K (Dependent on role & commensurate with suitable Qualification and Experience)
Contract Hours: 36-hour per week.
Contract Duration: Fixed Purpose & Fixed Term leading to permanency.
Annual Leave Entitlement: 25 days per annum, rising to 28 based on service.

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail are recruiting for Engineering roles within the Infrastructure Management (IM) Department to join us for an exciting phase of growth within the railway sector.
There is a requirement for additional support within the Track Delivery Unit (TDU), the successful candidate will serve as the technical support for all track construction and maintenance activities delivered by the CCE Track Delivery Unit & support the CCE TDU in the delivery of Capital Investment Projects which involve alterations to the live operational railway track systems and will also assist in the delivery of major CCE enhancement projects. There will be a requirement to assist in the co-ordination of PSDP duties and Safety Approvals for TDU delivered works.
With major investment programmes in the maintenance, renewal and upgrading of our infrastructure, with Projects such as:
- DART+ Expansion
- CLRP (Cork Line Rehabilitation Project)
- CACR (Cork Area Commuter Rail)
- Galway Station Redevelopment
Along with several other projects, this is an exciting opportunity to progress a career in the railway industry across a number of disciplines and departments, to help ensure the safe and efficient provision of railway services across the country.
Essential
- Degree level qualification (Level 8) in Engineering or relevant equivalent e.g. Construction or Project Management.
- Over 2 years’ experience working in an engineering/ Technical role, with above qualification.
- Appropriate work experience in relevant role may be considered in place of above formal qualification.
Desirable
- Membership of Engineers Ireland or other relevant professional body.
- Experience working in or knowledge of railway infrastructure would be an advantage.
- Demonstrable understanding of surveying/machine control.
- Working knowledge of SAP
